Yes, completely free during the beta period. No credit card, no trial, no catch. When we leave beta, the core monitoring features will remain free.

Does the app need internet to work?

No. Wzdom Privacy monitors your network activity entirely on device. The local threat database is bundled with the app and works fully offline. The only optional network activity is a once-daily check for threat definition updates.

Will it slow down my computer?

No. Wzdom Privacy is designed for a near-zero performance footprint. Typically under 15 MB of RAM when running in the background. Typically near-zero CPU when idle (less than 0.1% on modern hardware). No impact on network speed.

What data does Wzdom collect about me?

None. Wzdom Privacy is built so that collecting your data is architecturally impossible, not just against policy. No user account, no cloud servers, no crash reports or usage analytics. All data stays in an encrypted local database on your machine.

What do the threat categories mean?

Every connection Wzdom observes is classified: Tracker (ad network following your behaviour), Data Broker (company that sells personal data), Phishing Domain (malicious site — blocked automatically), Telemetry (usage data sent by apps), Third-Party Service (analytics or customer service tools), Safe CDN (legitimate content delivery).

What is a data broker?

A data broker is a company whose primary business is collecting personal data about individuals and selling it to advertisers, insurers, employers, and other third parties — without ever interacting with the people they are profiling.

Can I create custom block or allow rules?

Yes. In the Rules tab, tap Add Rule and enter the domain you want to block or allow. You can also use wildcard patterns — for example, blocking *.ads.example.com will block all subdomains under that pattern.

What is AI Shield?

AI Shield is an upcoming feature that will protect your personal information when you use AI services like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and others. It intercepts queries containing personal details on your device before they are sent, strips sensitive information, and sends a cleaned query. Everything happens locally.

How do I set a PIN to lock the app?

Go to Settings → App Lock and enter a 6-digit PIN. Once set, Wzdom Privacy requires the PIN each time it launches. Your PIN is stored as an Argon2id hash and cannot be reversed.
